With a heavy heart, Hemco Industries honors and remembers the life of their leader and CEO, Rich Bevis. Rich crossed his last finish line on Monday, September 12th, 2016 at the young age of 52.
Rich majored in Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in record time. After finishing school, Rich continued in his father’s footsteps and took the lead of the family business, Hemco Industries, and expanded the business through innovative new product lines and leadership. Rich cared deeply for the people with whom he worked with and treated and thought of them as family.
For those who knew Rich his personality was infectious and he never met a stranger. To say that Rich lived life to the fullest is an understatement. Throughout the years we, his employees, have heard so many stories from those who worked with Rich and remembered him fondly. His optimistic outlook on life and laid back attitude made Rich a lightning rod for anyone who spent even a little time with him.
Rich’s battle with cancer stacked the odds significantly against him but still, he was never known to utter a negative word, and was always remained upbeat. He was always sure he would “beat it and that enthusiasm was infectious”. Rich’s greatest gift to this world and those who knew him might be that attitude and the example he showed all those around him on how to live life and cherish every moment. Rich was a leader, a mentor, a coach and most importantly he was a dear friend to everyone he came in contact with. Rich will be missed deeply by his family, friends and by all those at Hemco who worked by his side each and every day. Though Rich is not here physically his presence will live on and he is with us each and every day.
