Hector has been a cornerstone of the Hemco team for nearly five decades, and his journey with the company is one that truly embodies commitment, resilience, and growth. Starting his career with us in 1978, Hector’s career began in a way that not only shaped his future but also the future of Hemco. As a young man, he came to Houston under challenging personal circumstances, and it was here that his path crossed with Mr. Richard M. Bevis III, who offered him an opportunity at Hemco on the spot. From assembling gangways to learning to fabricate platforms and weld, Hector’s journey at Hemco has been one of continuous learning and hard work.
Over the years, Hector has trained and mentored countless manufacturing employees, contributed to product improvements, and helped drive innovation in our processes. His loyalty to the company, unwavering work ethic, and willingness to always go above and beyond have made him a key figure in shaping Hemco’s culture and success.
A Day in the Life of Hector
When we asked Hector about his superpower of choice, he shared that if he could have any superpower, it would be teleportation. This would allow him to wake up early and always be the first to work—never late—and avoid those tough drives in bad weather. For Hector, efficiency and commitment are at the core of everything he does.
Despite his remarkable career at Hemco, Hector has a fascinating past that not many people know. Before starting at Hemco, Hector attended Autonomous de Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico, for three years to become a cardiologist. However, his life took a different direction when he moved to Houston to care for his ailing mother, and tragically, he lost her soon after. This was a pivotal moment for Hector, and it was in that moment of adversity that he found his new calling with Hemco.
When it comes to binge watching, Hector is a huge fan of Formula 1 racing, with Max Verstappen being his favorite driver.
As part of the Hemco family since 1978, Hector’s dedication and contributions are woven into the very fabric of our company. His passion for product innovation, team training, and improving processes has helped shape the culture of Hemco, making it a place where dedication and excellence thrive.
A Well-Deserved Recognition
In his free time, Hector enjoys spending quality time with his son, Herhon. Whether it’s playing with cars, riding bikes, or simply enjoying a day at the park, Hector cherishes these moments with his family.
