Electric/Hydraulic Pump Operated Gangways
Applications
This Hemco gangway model is selected when total automation is desired for effortless operation.
Folding Down
Pull back top of gangway and release automatic latching device. Pull (or push) vertical valve lever of the hydraulic power unit. By holding this lever, gangway will fold down to the horizontal. Positive stops hold gangway at the horizontal.
Leveling up and down
By continuing to hold vertical valve open as in the folding down operation, after reaching horizontal, it will level down. Upon reaching desired height, release valve. The valve will return to center and hold gangway at this level. If adjusting upward is needed, turn on power unit, push (or pull) valve opposite to above, energizing vertical lift cylinder and gangway will level up. When desired height is reached, release valve lever and this level is maintained.
Extending
With hydraulic power unit on, push (or pull) the lever of the extension cylinder valve to extend platform until desired position is reached. Release lever, valve will spring back to center and hold the platform position. To retract extendible platform, put valve lever in opposite direction. Extension spring will retract platform. Releasing lever will stop extension at any point.
Pivoting
With column unlocked, gangway will pivot by hand to the desired angle by pulling or pushing on either of the rear handrail posts. Push down on column lock mechanism to hold pivot position in place.
Folding Back
With extendible platform retracted and column lock mechanism unlocked, push (or pull) vertical valve lever, powering the vertical lift cylinder. Gangway will level up until fold back mechanism engages, creating a pull down on the back, underside, of the gangway. This automatically folds back the gangway and the automatic latching device engages. When the vertical is reached, release the vertical valve. The relief valve in the system protects against any damage in this operation and all other operations.
