Hand Pump - XHP
Applications: This gangway model is selected when power operation is desired, but air pressure and electricity is not available. Powered by high volume hand pump to lift cylinder and extension cylinder.
Operation Data:
- Our high displacement hand pump (piston type) with fluid reservoir is source of power for operation
- Small cylinders are employed for speed of operation, yet cylinders are large enough for easy operation
- Lift cylinder moves 1.5 inches per stroke of the pump
- Extension cylinder moves 3 inches per stroke
- Flow of fluid from pump to cylinders and back to reservoir is controlled by valve at back of pump. When valve at back of pump is closed, fluid flows to cylinder(s) as selected by opening valve(s). When valve is open, fluid flows back to reservoir.
Folding Down: Pull back on top of gangway and release automatic latching device. Open lift cylinder valve and open the reservoir return valve and gangway will fold down with stops holding it at the horizontal.
Pivoting: With column unlocked, gangway will pivot by hand to the desired angle by pulling or pushing in either of the rear handrail posts. Push down on column lock mechanism to hold pivot position in place.
Extending: With reservoir return valve closed, open extension cylinder valve. Pump extension out as far as desired and close extension cylinder valve. This will hold extendible platform at this position. To retract platform, open extension cylinder valve and reservoir return valve. Extension spring will retract platform.
Folding Back: With extension retracted and column lock mechanism unlocked, open valve to vertical lift cylinder. Operate pump to level gangway up until the fold back mechanism engages at which time the gangway will begin to fold back. Continue pumping until the gangway folds back completely and the safety securing latch engages.
Leveling up and down: After the gangway folds down to the horizontal, it will continue to level down. When desired level height is reached, close lift cylinder valve and gangway will be held at this height (also close reservoir turn valve). If adjusting upward is needed, open lift cylinder valve and operate hand hydraulic pump, closing valve when adjusted.
