Air / Hydraulic - XHA
The Air/Oil Reservoir is the heart of the XHA/XHM(AL)-24
Applications: These models are selected where automation is desired and air or sufficient pressure is available.
- Air pressure is applied on hydraulic fluid in reservoir to activate cylinders.
- Fully automatic on compressed air of 160 PSIG - 100 PSIG with manually assisted foldback
- Hydraulic valves are closed when correct positions are reached; movement is locked.
- Gangway folds down smoothly and lowers by gravity. Extension is spring loaded ( Model XHA-24) for return. Gangway folds back automatically when gangway reaches height where fold back mechanism engages.
Folding Down: Pull back on top of gangway and release automatic latching device. Push open lever to lift cylinder valve located at bottom of reservoir. Gangway will fold down to the horizontal. Positive stops hold gangway at the horizontal.
Folding Back: With extendible platform retracted and column lock mechanism unlocked, pressure reservoir with the air valve. Gangway will then level up until the fold rod nut engages the folding angle at which time (with sufficient air pressure) the folding rod will fold the gangway back and the automatic securing latch will engage. If there is not sufficient air pressure for automatic foldback, by hand, pull on handle of folding chain assembly to assist.
Leveling up and down: After the gangway folds down, it is stopped at the horizontal and it will continue to level down. When the desired level is reached, close vertical valve and gangway will be held at this level. If adjusting upward is needed, pressure the reservoir by opening the air valve located at the top of the reservoir. Open the lift cylinder valve and the lift cylinder will level the gangway up. Close lift cylinder valve when the desired level is reached.
Pivoting: With column unlocked, gangway will pivot by hand to the desired angle by pulling or pushing in either of the rear handrail posts. Push down on column lock mechanism to hold pivot position in place.
Extending: After correct level height and angle have been reached, turn air valve to pressure the reservoir, then open extension valve to pressure cylinder to extend.To retract walkway, turn air valve lever to release pressure in reservoir, then open extension valve. Extension spring will retract platform.
